Dirty!!!

So you know the kids had a good time playing outside when you turn around for just a second and turn back and you see this...made me laugh! I think she might have eaten some too...she was black on her face, her belly, her hands and her legs. She went straight to the bath!

Ride-a-long...

The Thursday after we got back from San Diego I had the opportunity to do a ride-a-long with LifeNet air-evac. The base was located in Florence, what a place...I got there about 10:30a and met with Jeryl the flight nurse who also works part-time at MVMC who invited me along for the ride. After meeting the flight paramedic and the pilot we went over some safety training and where my seat would be and what would happen if we did get a call. After that we went to a mom/pop place to have a sandwich and back to headquarters to hang out and wait for a call. Well about 2p they were placed on hold with Florence prison and then they were called out. Well because it was with Florence prison I didn't get to go :(, the guard would be taking my seat with the prisoner. So at that point I left to come home and just as I was coming around the corner to home there was the air-evac over head transporting the patient. I was invited back to do another ride-a-long and I sure do plan to. Lots of fun can't wait to go again!

Whoo Hoo!!!

Bring on the surplus of TP! Marcus is potty trained...I never thought this day would come since he seemed to refuse there for awhile but he is done and doing great. He has actually been trained for about a month now and has only had one spontaneous accident. Even on our trip to San Diego he did good and didn't have one accident and we stopped for him to go even though we put a diaper on him in case he fell asleep so he wouldn't have an accident but he refused to go in his diaper and screamed at us to stop, so we did. We do still put a diaper on him at nap and bed time especially because he drinks so MUCH but other then that it's great and we're loving it, GOOD JOB MARCUS!!! Plus his little butt looks so cute in 'big boy undies'!

San Diego!!!

This week we went to San Diego to visit Sea World! It was lots of fun and we're glad we went. We left on Sunday and came back on Wednesday. It was a long 6 hr drive but the kids did really well especially with the help of our new headrest DVD players. And my nephew Austin joined us for the trip too. We are so glad he came and it was lots of fun. We were glad to go but also glad to be home. Here are the details of our trip...
.
Sunday: We arrived in San Diego mid afternoon and checked into our room and then unpacked. After relaxing for a few minutes we decided we were all hungry and ordered out and had it delivered to our room. After we all ate and cleaned up we decided to head down to the pool and swim and off we went. Here is a pic of our room we stayed in...It was just right for the 5 of us. Madison and Austin used the bunk beds, Marcus slept with me and Matt and Jillian slept in a pack-n-play in the room with Madison and Austin because there was a door we could close. We could not have Marcus and Jillian sleep in the same room because Jillian is a sleeper and Marcus isn't and we didn't want him to wake up Jillian.
.
Monday: we all got up and ready and headed out for breakfast after deciding the free breakfast at the hotel was way too packed. So we stopped at an IHOP after it taking us about 30 min to find. We had a great breakfast and off we went to Sea World. Austin and Madison were our navigators and we followed and went and did the rides and games they wanted to do. It was fun. We stopped and watched the Sea Lion show, it was cute, it was the count down to Halloween with 5 different skits and then off to play some more and then off to watch Shamu. We played games and did rides and had lots of fun. Here are some pics of our shows and fun...

Matt and Austin played a basketball game and won the huge Shamu's. Unfortunately they were so big we couldn't fit them in the car to come home with us. Austin was very good at giving his away, Madison at first was upset but then realized she made a kids day by giving him that huge Shamu. They were so big we could barely get them in the car to get home from Sea World. We ended being at Sea World ALL day...it opened at 10a and we stayed until 5p. We were all wiped out especially Jillian and Marcus since I held them while they napped, which wasn't long of course. But we had lots of fun and would do it again any day. After we found our way back to our hotel room Matt, Marcus and I left to find some dinner to bring back to the hotel. After a few minutes we found a mall really close to our hotel so we called Madison, Austin and Jillian with choices and off we went to get dinner. After dinner we once again went swimming.

Tuesday: we all got up and headed out for a mom/pop place for breakfast, it was really good. After breakfast we headed over to the mall we had found and shopped around for a few hours. It was an outside mall and the weather was nice to shop. After shopping we headed back to the hotel for naps since Jillian and Marcus needed a good nap that day. After naps we headed out for lunch and found a Taco Bell. After lunch we headed out for the beach. Low and behold...the beach was just straight ahead of us from where we were at Taco Bell. It was great! The kids loved it and believe it or not, the water wasn't as cold as I thought it would be. Madison and Austin got in and went swimming for a few hours, Marcus got in up to his knees until he fell over and got the front of him wet. Jillian played in it with her feet as I was afraid to let her get too far into the sand as I didn't want her to eat it. Matt, Jillian, Marcus and I hung out on the beach and played and Madison and Austin had a good time in the waves. And of course we were not prepared at all for the beach (which is also why we don't have any pics, dang it!) so we had to go shopping for towels for the kids so they wouldn't freeze on the way back to the hotel. Then we found a CVS and went and got a bunch of snacks and easy dinner/microwavable items. After snacking we headed out to the pool once again. We also did laundry since we have lots of clothes that were wet and weren't drying very well with the clouds and humidity.

Wednesday: we got up that morning...all tired and ready for home. We all got packed and checked out. Loaded up and stopped at a drive thru breakfast as we were all eager to get home. We made it home mid afternoon, unpacked and relaxed!

It was a fun trip over all and we're glad we went. We haven't had a family vacation in a long time.

Like father like daughter!?!?!

The other night we were getting ready to head upstairs and put the kids to bed and this is what we found...Jillian found daddy's Mountain Dew and wanted to drink it. Although it was just out of the fridge it was UNOPENED! This may be why our kids don't sleep although Jillian is our sleeper and Marcus is not. It may have something to do with me drinking Dew while I was pregnant with him?!?! Jillian wants to be just like daddy, monkey see monkey do!

Daddy's a dinosaur!!!

This morning Marcus and I got up and went and laid with Matt in bed...I slept most of the night with Marcus since he refuses to sleep by himself yet alone all night long. We know he is capable since he used to do it and occasionally will do it now, which after our San Diego trip next week we are going to start breaking him of this...so we go in early this morning to lay with daddy and he is sleeping and snoring a bit and Marcus says "daddy's a dinosaur" and then tends to copy daddy's snoring. Very funny since Marcus snors pretty good himself right now!

So...time for change! Lots has happened lately. I no longer work for ON. After ON announced the closure of our fab we have been busy. Matt decided to go back to school. He will be attending RSI for HVAC training (heating, cooling & electrical) and will be starting Nov 12th, 2009 and will be finishing Nov 2010, WOO HOO! Matt is excited to get on with his life and can't wait until school starts and when he will be done at ON too. I now work for MVMC (Mountain Vista Medical Center) on Crismon/Southern in the ER. Nice to finally be close to home and I will be working 3 days a week, boo hoo on the 12 hr days and the various days with no set schedule but it has it's trade offs. It's a good job but can be extremely busy especially with the upcoming winter and the H1N1 flu (a.k.a swine flu).
.
On a different note...I am so excited that fall is here! YEAH! I can't stand the hot summers here and I love that we get to decorate outside/inside and the kids love it. Marcus wants to go see lights all year round because he doesn't understand it's only in the winter, but it's coming and I can't wait.
