Coupon Sense Club!!!

So I have to say I am very proud of myself and our grocery bill...I have been trying so hard to try and save as much as we can on our groceries, especially since my hours at work have been cut. Well after all the nurses at work kept talking about the Coupon Sense Club and how much they save I decided I would sign up and give it a try. Since I have joined on April 10th, I have been successful at saving 50% of our grocery bill. I can't believe the amount of savings and how helpful the website is. It helps you save money by telling you where the sales are, what coupon to use so you end up getting your items for dirt cheap or even free. Not to mention that I get 6 papers each Sunday so that helps with the amount of coupons and items you can get. Since I have joined I can't tell you how much stuff we have gotten free or let alone dirt cheap. Here is a great pic/example of the savings I just made on Friday shopping at Fry's...I saved $203 on all of this and only spent $68...can you believe it? I don't know if I'll ever go back to not using coupons again...Below I bought...
7 bottles of All detergent at .99 each
7 boxes of Surf detergent at .99 each
6 rolls of Bounty paper towls at .19 each
4 flats of Nestle water (24 bottles each) at 1.58 each
13 boxes of Huggies wipes (64 count each) at .61 each
1 box of Huggies diapers (70 count) at $11
6 packages of Huggies diapers (26 count each) at 4.49 each
and...6 bottles of Ketchup, FREE! yep, free!!!

School!!!

So, Madison has done it...she has finished school and officially on summer break. Out of anyone I don't think anyone was as excited as she was to have summer break finally here, but I can't believe she will be going into 7th grade in Augut... And...Matt has officially made it through half way too! He has made it just past day 100 out 200 days. He has been doing the count down since the 70's and finally made it to 100...he is beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel and can't wait to be finished!

Cow, cow and more cow!!!

So I don't know if any one remembers that back in June 2009 we had bought some cows with a few friends...well a few weeks ago it was time to take them in...we had raised them just under a year. We went in on the 2 cows with Bruce, Todd and the Gunnels so we would all get half a cow. Well we received our half of the cow and boy is it a lot of meat...we are so excited and now don't have much more room in our freezer, but that is ok. We have made spaghetti and had steaks two different nights and it is really good. I would have to say I would definitely do it again, and the pic below isn't even all of the cow!

New niece!!!

On April 3rd my little sister Katie and her hubby Josh had theri baby girl, baby Brooklyn was born at 1:08 pm and weighed 8 lbs 9 oz. She is so beautiful!!! Here she is...

Grandma got married!!!

On May 8th grandma got married!!! He is the sweetest person and so nice to her. He is so good to her and treats her the way she deserves to be treated and she is so happy, we love you both and wish you the best! Welcome to the family Robert!!! It was such a pretty wedding too!

Matt's birthday!!!

So Matt had a birthday! His birthday was April 18th and it was a big one...the B-I-G 40! :) Since it was such a mile stone I decided we needed to have a big bash...so for his birthday with the help of Daryl, I was able to plan a surprise birthday party, which I started planning end of February and was able to pull it off up until the week of his birthday. He figured it out but was very excited about the party. I had planned an 80's theme party at Skate Land! It was lots of fun and couldn't have worked out any better!!! We even rented out all of Skate Land so it was all family and friends! I had lots of fun dressing up and thanks to Sara White and her craftiness she made great skirts for Jillian and I to wear and then I did the shirts for me, Jillian and Madison. Marcus wasn't all that into dressing up but that is ok, it was still lots of fun. Happy Birthday Matt!
